  • Friday 21 January 2022 Year 5 First Aid Day Y5 had a very busy day on Tuesday this week learning all about how to keep ourselves safe and what to do in an emergency. The children covered all sorts, from the recovery position to CPR, to asthma attacks and dressing wounds.
  • Wednesday 15 December 2021 Christmas Party and Christmas Cards Year 5 had a lovely time making Christmas cards and dancing during their Christmas party! We played lots of games and saw some impressive... and interesting dance moves!
  • Wednesday 15 December 2021 Year 5 Rivers Bubble Homework Year 5 produced some lovely pieces of homework all about our topic - Rivers!
  • Friday 10 December 2021 Year 5 & 6 Computing On Thursday, Years 5 and 6 had a day of computing. Our focus was quizzes and the children were brilliant. After exploring a variety of question types ranging from sequencing and mathematical to multiple choice, the children were tasked with creating a quiz suitable for KS1. We even had the chance to share our quizzes with the lovely Year 2s!
  • Thursday 18 November 2021 Y5 and 6 River Trip This morning Year 5 and 6 visited the River Leach to carry out fieldwork. After identifying the river on an OS map and labelling key human and physical features the children took a walk along the river and tried to spot some of these features first-hand. After identifying that the river was part of the river's upper course, they sat and sketched a small section carefully observing the different features.
  • Tuesday 16 November 2021 Life Education Last week we had a visit from Alex Crump of Life Education. Our sessions was incredibly informative as we learnt about making important decisions regarding peer pressure. This included smoking, drugs and standing up for ourselves by being assertive.
  • Friday 8 October 2021 Year 5 Science - Light Year 5 have been focusing on light in their current science unit. This week, we learned all about how we are able to see different colours based on wavelengths and which colours are reflected and absorbed. The children were amazed that because bananas reflect the colour yellow, theoretically they are blue!
