  • Friday 16 July 2021 Spaghetti and Marshmallows?! Year 3 had the most fantastic Maths lesson today creating 3D shapes out of Spaghetti and Marshmallows. Whilst it was incredibly fun creating the shapes, the children were also doing lots of learning - thinking carefully about the nets they had to make in order to create the 3D shape.

  • Monday 28 June 2021 Terrific Time! Year 3 have been learning about Time over the last couple of weeks. We have looked at telling the time on a 24 and 12 hour clock as well as looking and working out the duration of events. Today we were measuring time in seconds using stopwatches and the children had so much fun. We brainstormed all the different things we could measure and the children were very creative.... 
  • Tuesday 15 June 2021 Scientific Enquiry Year 3 were faced with a problem today... Colin the farmer had called Miss Mitchell to ask for their help. He wanted to grow some onions in a container to sell at the town hall but wasn't sure how many would fit and grow well in each one. 
  • Tuesday 8 June 2021 Art Day Year 3 had the most fantastic day with Mrs Sewell working on their art work to finish our Locked Up topic! Please take a look at what they got up too :)
  • Wednesday 19 May 2021 Why do we have skeletons? Good question! Why don't you ask Year 3 who have been doing some fantastic Science learning today, exploring why we have skeletons and what the purpose of them is. 
  • Friday 14 May 2021 Locked Up! Our topic this term is 'Locked Up' and so far we have been learning all about Victorian prisons, comparing it to Northleach and Gloucester.

  • Wednesday 5 May 2021 Say hello to Sam the Skeleton In Science this term, Year 3 are looking at Animals, Including Humans. We have been discussing what nutrients animals and humans need in order to stay healthy and what the role and purpose of each nutrient/vitamin is.

  • Thursday 29 April 2021 Gymnastics Year 3 were thrilled to find out that they were having Gymnastics lessons again this term! 
  • Wednesday 28 April 2021 Fabulous Fractions Year 3 have been on fire since returning from the Easter Holidays! In Maths we have been learning all about Fractions, and I have been blown away by the children's enthusiasm and understanding. 
  • Tuesday 30 March 2021 Falafels and Usekh collar making! What a busy but brilliant day Year 3 have had today! We have enjoyed learning about our Ancient Egyptian topic so much and had a wonderful time making falafels which are an all time favourite street-food in Egypt!
  • Wednesday 17 March 2021 Reflecting Light We had a lot of fun today learning all about light that is reflected or absorbed! Why don't you ask your children at home if they know what these mean and the difference between the two?
  • Thursday 11 March 2021 Here We Are This week during our afternoon sessions, our focus has been the emotional wellbeing and mental health of the children after a long time away from school. We have been using the Oliver Jeffers text 'Here We Are' to help us work through our emotions and how we are feeling about returning to school.

  • Thursday 4 March 2021 More Wonderful Work! I have been blown away and so so proud of all of the children in Year 3 throughout the whole home-learning period. Also, a huge huge thank you to all the wonderful parents, your children are very lucky to have you supporting them so brilliantly!

  • Thursday 11 February 2021 Home Learning - Super Science Whilst at home, Year 3 have been busy learning about Plants. We have conducted lots of exciting experiments looking at how water is transported through plants and also explored growing and living conditions by planting our own flowers and seeing if where we stored them affected their growth.
  • Wednesday 3 February 2021 Home Learning - Wonderful Work! I have been blown away with the amount of high quality work that has been sent to me by Year 3 - thank you so much to both children, and parents for all your hard work.
  • Tuesday 5 January 2021 Good Morning Year 3! Who would've thought this time yesterday that we would have to stay at home again! I hope you're all well and are keeping yourselves busy and safe this morning.
  • Thursday 17 December 2020 Christmas Service Assembly Year 3 and 4 were very lucky to have been joined by Bishop David this morning for a lovely Christmas Service. 
  • Wednesday 16 December 2020 Christmas Lunch and Hat Making! Year 3 have had the most marvellous day making their fantastic Christmas hats. We had Reindeer's, Elves, Snowmen, Santa's and lots more sitting round our table today! Our Christmas lunch was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed spending time as a class sharing jokes and pulling our crackers.
  • Monday 14 December 2020 Magnet Investigation In Science this term, Year 3 have been enjoying learning about Forces and Magnets. Today we all had so much fun exploring how forces can act at a distance using magnets and paperclips. We had 4 stations: kites, paperclip chain, paper and paperclip piles. Why don't you ask us what we observed and discovered?!
  • Monday 14 December 2020 Christmas Crafts Year 3 have had loads of fun today cutting, sticking and split-pinning their Christmas penguins. Thank you so much to the Christmas Craft Team for all your hard work in organising and sorting, we loved it!
