Year 3 Bastille Day
Quelle journée géniale!
What a brilliant day!
The children came to school today dressed in Red, White and Blue clothes and all looked fantastic. In the morning we learnt all about Bastille Day, what is is and why it is celebrated in France. The children had a fantastic time creating posters and drawing key landmarks/buildings such as the Eiffel Tower and the Bastille Saint-Antoine fortress whilst listening to some authentic French music.
We were then lucky enough to sit in the sunshine and enjoy some delicious croissants. It really did feel like we were in France soaking up the rays!
In the afternoon we had so much fun taking part in the Key Stage 2 Eiffel Tower competition. We worked sooo well in our teams to create some epic towers out of newspaper and can not wait to show them to the other classes. Well done to the three winning groups!
Happy Bastille Day everyone!
