Sunscreen Experiment
We were very lucky to have two teachers from The Cotswold School come into our school to perform an experiment with the children. We were investigating how to protect our skin from ultra violet light. We used special beads that changed colour when they were exposed to sunlight and created a skin-like barrier using cling film. We then covered the cling film with either moisturiser, sunscreen or nothing at all. When an ultra violet light was shone on each pot, we counted how many beads changed colour. Everything was kept exactly the same to make sure it was a fair test. The results were very clear- we need to wear sunscreen, even on a cloudy day.
