Maple trip to Compton Verney
We had an amazing day at Compton Verney and we were so lucky with the weather! Linda took us on a journey through the woods to our Stone Age camp where we made wattle and daub fences by weaving willow, made stone age bread by grinding barley with rocks and mixing with oats and water, built shelters, explored a cave or artefacts and lit our own fires with flint and steel (not quite as the Stone Age people would have done it with flint and flint!). We had a great day getting a taste of what life would have been like all those thousands of years ago.
We got suitably muddy and made a lot of wonderful memories out in the beautiful autumnal ‘Stone Age’ camp.
