Maple exploring sound

In Science, we have been learning how sound is made and how sounds get fainter as the distance from the sound source increases. Today we used string telephones to help us learn that vibrations from sounds travel through a medium to the ear. When we spoke to our partner in a normal voice across the playground we couldn't hear what they were saying, but when we spoke through the string telephone we could! The sound vibrations travelled though the string (medium) to reach our partner's ears.
