Maple Digibus
This week we were visited by the Digibus, a Cheltenham-based charity bringing digital education, help, and experiences to local communities within Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. In small groups we took part in 4 main activities: a VR experience, programming Marty Robots using iPads, programming a Picoh Robot using Scratch and website design.
Wearing the VR headsets, we took flight on a pterodactyl and rode a rollercoster through a dinosaur park. We squealed out loud when doing a loop the loop and loved being chased by a T-Rex and other dinosaurs!
Next we learnt how to control Marty Robots using an iPad. We had to navigate him through an obstacle course and made him play football!
We had great fun using Wordpress to build a fully functioning website. When designing our cafe websites, we carefully chose photos to match our menus.
Finally we programmed the Picoh robot to talk and move.
