Northleach C of E Primary School

Year 6 have been learning about the human body and all the ways it keeps us alive.

Today, we looked into the digestive system and how nutrients and water are transported around the body.

To demonstrate the way nutrients are transported around the body, we created diffusion art. The pattern represented food in our body before it was broken down by bile and enzymes. When each pattern was sprayed with water, the colours spread outward.

By breaking down the food (spraying our artwork with water) the nutrients (the colours) were able to diffuse through the intestine and into the blood stream (across the paper). The nutrients are now able to move around the body via the bloodstream.
