2025/26 Roundup -half way through the school year!
It has been a busy, busy first half of the year; I can't quite believe we are now over half way through!
So far, Year 1/2 have participated in Indoor Cricket, Gymnastics and Benchball, with 35 invites having gone out, including our very first invite to a Reception child, who is more than ready for the challenge! Invites for a fun Mini Olympics will be out soon.
Year 3/4 have participated in Football, Cross Country twice, Indoor Athletics, Orienteering, Hockey, Climbing and Dodgeball, with invites to come for Tag Rugby and Competitive Gymnastics before Easter, which will mean EVERY child in Year 3/4 will have been invited to attend an extracurricular event!
Year 5/6 have participated in Football, Cross Country twice, Orienteering, Hockey (one fun skills, drills and mini matches and one competitive,) Tag Rugby and Dodgeball, with invites to come for more Tag Rugby, Dodgeball and Netball! EVERY child in Year 5/6 has attended an extracurricular event, what a fantastic achievement!
The intent of the Sporting events that we participate in varies, and each child is matched to events that suit them. We take part in a wide range of activities and sports, to cater to everyone! They can be just for fun, to learn new skills, to improve health and fitness, to capture youth voice, to aid transition to Secondary school, to engage children in exercise, to offer experiences to pupils who may not be able to access them, support SEND or for competition.
The children benefit so much from these experiences, and everyone has an opportunity to SHINE! When they put on our School match kit, they ALWAYS represent our School with pride. The children are invited to take part based on behaviour in School and ability; representing the School in an honour, and their behaviour at events in impeccable.
After Easter, we will participate in a Swimming Gala, Cricket, Rounders, Athletics, Quad Kids and Cheerleading.
Thank you to everyone who makes this possible; we may be a small School, but we are MIGHTY.
